Aljon Mariano provides spark as Ginebra frustrates Terrafirma.| ManilaBulletin
Aljon Mariano provided the spark as Barangay Ginebra, once again, banked on its "Never-Say-Die" mantra and essayed a 114-106 come-from-behind win over Terrafirma in the PBA on Tour at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City on Friday, June 30.
Mariano scored four of his 25 points during the telling run to cap a splendid performance that also saw him collar 11 rebounds. Jeremiah Gray and unheralded Donald Gumaru finished with 16 apiece as Ginebra erased Terrafirma’s eight point lead, 93-101 early in the final frame. Ginebra, however, found another gear to its fourth quarter rally and unloaded the back-breaking run with Pessumal, Grey, Mariano and Gumaru stringing consecutive points that ultimately took the fight out of Terrafirma.
