All Creatures Great and Small fans are gearing up for the Christmas special which is set to air on Channel 5 later this month. In an exclusive interview with LancsLive and other media, Tristan Farnon actor Callum Woodhouse and James Herriot star Nicholas Ralph opened up about the series.
They addressed the heartbreaking loss their co-star Samuel West had to face as his father, the actor Timothy West, died aged 90 on November 12. Callum, who plays Samuel's on-screen brother, shared some fond memories.
An actor friend of Nicholas' got in touch and said when he was a young actor, Timothy had written to him because he had been accepted into drama school. A statement released by his children said the actor died "peacefully in his sleep" and was "with his friends and family at the end". The time is widely respected as the 'half-hour call' for stage actors. "I thought that was rather beautiful," Samuel told The Sunday Times.
