The move to digital continues with BT's Openreach confirming another 79 locations that are stopping the sale of this older technology.
The UK is gradually transitioning to a digital future, swapping out old copper cables for modern full-fibre technology, offering faster and more reliable internet connections. Consequently, this means providers such as BT, Sky , and TalkTalk won't be able to offer their legacy packages in areas where full-fibre implementation has been enacted.
Despite Full Fibre offering vastly improved internet speeds over its copper counterpart, there is concern amongst those who use landline-only services due to the requirement of broadband connectivity for the new digital telephone technology, reports the Express. Ellon, Swindon , Antrim, Londonderry, Tyrone, and Greater London - Richmond upon Thames are among the areas set for a digital upgrade.
