Several big changes are in place as the event returns to Merseyside
The family event returns to Southport on Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14. The show will see The Red Arrows and Typhoon aircraft, among others, take to the skies across both days.
This year's show is shaping up to be another thrilling day on the coast, with the programme featuring RAF Tutor, Rich Goodwin Pitts, Rolls Royce Spitfire, Wingwalkers and plenty more.View gallery But organisers have introduced a number of changes after last year's event encountered a number of problems, including the Red Arrows cancellation due to poor weather, traffic issues and long queues. We have listed all of the changes below.
Flying displays Last year, visitors were disappointed as the Red Arrows' display was cancelled when conditions were described as "unsuitable" for close formation display flying. Southport organisers said the Scottish Air Show took place on the same weekend and some of the flying displays were shared between the two events. This included the Red Arrows.
