Police will have extra powers ahead of Bonfire Night
Police have been given extra powers for Bonfire Night to prevent incidents of anti-social behaviour in areas across Merseyside. It comes less than week after incidents of vandalism were reported on Mischief Night which saw buses attacked, car windows smashed and fireworks thrown in what several people likened to horror film 'The Purge'. Following Mischief Night, Merseyside Police introduced a Dispersal Zone in Whiston which expired at 3pm on Friday, November 1.
In Dingle, the dispersal zone covers the areas within the boundaries of Grafton Street, Harlow Street, Park Road, Dingle Lane, Dingle Road and Garswood Street. In Knowsley , dispersal orders have ben introduced in Kirkby, Huyton, Stockbridge Village and Whiston, and are active until 3pm on Wednesday, November 6.
