There are some old school faves and newcomers up for gongs this year
A host of top Manchester and Greater Manchester restaurants have been nominated for this year’s Asian Restaurant Awards. The annual celebration of the Asian restaurant business released its shortlist of curry and noodle houses, with many of the city’s favourites featuring.
Among them are the likes of Akbar’s, Tampopo, Wings and Tattu feature on the exhaustive list for this year. There are also newcomers like the Gaijin Dumpling House in Levenshulme and Shoryu Ramen in Chorlton. The restaurants will compete in categories including the Best Restaurant for each UK region, best fusion cuisine, street food of the year, best restaurant group, best newcomer, best buffet restaurant, best fine dining, best casual dining, best takeaway, best chef and the ‘Curry King’ award.Last year’s Delhi Dream in Cheadle Hulme won Best Asian Restaurant for Manchester, while Achari in Bolton won Best Asian Restaurant in the North West region.
