The Ibrox hero and club legend has kept himself to himself in the main since retiring from football.

The Ibrox legend and fans' favourite decided to call time on his career a year ago after over 500 games for the club across two stints. He was a massive player for the Light Blues during his time in Govan and was always going to leave a massive void. Jack Butland has come in and had a big debut season to help plug that gap left by the 42-year-old. Incredibly, he is yet to officially retire, and that was pointed out by Jimmy Bullard and Tubes during their meet up on the Golf Life podcast.

The Rangers hero also played with a club crested golf ball in a tribute to his old club as he teamed up with Tubes to take on Bullard at the Kittocks course at Fairmont St Andrews. The lads put questions to the former Scotland international including whether he would like a role at Rangers in the future, his favourite game and his life in Govan generally. Kicking off with that, he explained: "It was brilliant. I started training there when I was 11 or 12.

As the guys continued their efforts down the back nine, Tubes asked McGregor about which of his 500-plus games meant the most, to which he responded: "It's a difficult question because there are so many good memories. I think any time you win a trophy is always good. Obviously beating your rivals is always good as well. I had some good European runs.

That moved the conversation on to whether he would like to return to the club in some capacity in the future and if he would like to get into coaching or management. He said: "If the question got asked. Coaching? I feel like I want to want to do it rather than people say 'you've got the experience, you should do it'. That time might come soon but I am just enjoying myself."

Tubes then asked: "Have you officially retired?" McGregor replied: "Pretty much aye. I have not played for 11 months now. I don't think there is a need to I keep myself to myself and just get on with it."
