Ally McCoist slaughtered the new hate crime laws in Scotland as he admitted fears over breaches in match between Rangers and Celtic.
Ally McCoist has admitted his fears that there could be 48,000 breaches of Scotland's new hate crime laws in the match between Rangers and Celtic as he branded the guidance"madness".
The Hate Crime and Public Order Act - passed by MSPs in 2021 - consolidated existing hate crime legislation and creates a new offence of stirring up hatred against protected characteristics. These include age, disability, religion, sexual orientation, and transgender identity. The pundit explained:"We've got a hate bill. by the way, a hate bill has been passed in the country.
"He obviously can't because he'll get himself in trouble. He has implied it, everybody with two brain cells in their head knows it's madness, crazy.Under guidance, hate crimes can include; threatening behaviour, verbal abuse or insults including name-calling, assaults, robbery and damage to property – like graffiti daubed on walls.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
