Fernando Alonso feels Austria's sprint weekend format makes it an unsuitable venue to fully understand Aston Martin's recent F1 upgrades:
Fernando Alonso reckons the Austrian Grand Prix “will not be ideal” for Aston Martin to optimise its latest upgrades owing to the compressed timetable required by Formula 1 sprint weekends.
This only leaves one free practice session on Friday afternoon for teams to refine their set-up and validate any car upgrades. He said: “Canada is specific. I said in Barcelona that we should always wait a couple of races to identify really where you are. “Anything else, I think it's probably also the shape of the day, how you are that day or how the circuit is suiting your car, or which tyres you're having on.”
