Latest Nottingham Forest news as Reds owner Evangelos Marinakis considers moving away from the City Ground
with owner Evangelos Marinakis outlining how relocating to a “bigger facility will set the club on the right path”. A site in Toton, several miles from Nottingham city centre, has been identified as a potential option.But architect Matt Drewitt believes there is a way for Forest to do that without upping sticks - and it involves rotating the angle of the pitch.

Drewitt’s plans push the stadium out “ever so slightly” into the Trent, following in the footsteps of Fulham’s Craven Cottage. He said: “It is possible to cantilever the upper tiers whilst maintaining excellent public space at ground level. The key historic boat houses are retained and celebrated, whilst those of less architectural quality are demolished and incorporated into the ground floor of the stadium, nestled between bars/restaurants. This really cements the idea of a sporting village.
Drewitt’s plans include scope for a museum celebrating not just Forest but the city as a whole in the entrance for away fans. He added: “This side of the stadium would also house a great deal of the club’s commercial arms such as a conference centre, offices and much more.” Drewitt said: “The section highlights the excellent relationship between the stand, public space and river. Throughout the week this interface will celebrate views by offering spaces for a multitude of bars, restaurants and retail opportunities in addition to the boat clubs.”
