Amanda Holden's new quiz show, 'The Inner Circle', is currently filming in Glasgow. The show will test the general knowledge and strategic thinking of both members of the public and celebrities.
Filming has commenced in Glasgow for a brand new BBC One quiz show hosted by the renowned Amanda Holden . The show, titled ' The Inner Circle ,' will be filmed at Kelvin Hall, situated in Glasgow 's vibrant west end, where the BBC's Studioworks facility is located. Production will remain entirely within the city, with post-production taking place in Glasgow as well. The gameshow will test the general knowledge and strategic thinking of both members of the public and well-known personalities.
The inaugural series will comprise 36 episodes, including six celebrity specials scheduled for weekend viewing during BBC One's afternoon tea time slot. The remaining 25 episodes will feature members of the public and air on weekday afternoons. Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden, aged 53, expressed her enthusiastic anticipation for the show, stating, “I’m so excited to be part of this thrilling new quiz that challenges contestants and entertains viewers in equal measure. It’s a fantastic opportunity to bring something fresh and fabulous to weekday afternoons and Saturday night TV, and I can’t wait to see the audience reactions.”Rob Unsworth, the head of BBC daytime and early peak, and Kalpna Patel-Knight, the head of entertainment at the BBC, jointly stated, “We’re delighted to be joining forces to bring viewers a gripping new quiz that, for the first time, they’ll be able to play along with not only during the week, but on a Saturday teatime too. “Getting the answers right on this show is only half the battle – contestants also need to decide who they trust enough to keep in the game, all under the watchful eye of the brilliantly mischievous Amanda Holden.” The show is the culmination of a collaborative effort between the BBC's Entertainment and Daytime commissioning teams, who aimed to identify and develop innovative and contemporary quiz and gameshow formats for BBC One and iPlayer, specifically targeted for Saturday early evenings and daytime/early peak programming. The precise broadcast details for 'The Inner Circle' will be announced in due time. It will be produced by Tern, with BBC Studios handling the global distribution of the series
