(UPDATE) PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan — Albert Jose Amaro II of Naga City made an impeccable performance after breaking his own two previous records in Batang Pinoy.
PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan — Albert Jose Amaro II of Naga City made an impeccable performance after breaking his own two previous records in Batang Pinoy .The 17-year-old promising tanker shattered his old record in the 100-meter freestyle, clocking in 52.59 seconds — better than his old mark of 53.29 seconds.He also wiped out his own best time of 24.53 seconds in 50-m freestyle with a new time of 24.32 seconds. Amaro won seven gold medals in the 2024 Palarong Pambansa held in June.
Alexa Vallesteros of Pasig City, Alexis Patalinghug of Ceby, Julia Bintulan of San Jose and Samhara Carbon of General Santos bagged one gold each in Karate.Meanwhile, Paying homage to their history, Lapu-Lapu City arnisadors showed that they are from a bloodline of fighters after bagging seven medals in the arnis event.Formerly known as 'Opon,' Lapu-Lapu City, ranked 12th in the overall medal tally , with a total of 12 medals built on a 7-4-1 gold-silver-bronze haul.
