American Airlines Flight 2134 to Boston barely missed hitting another plane on the runway at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport on Wednesday, the second such incident in six weeks.

The Federal Aviation Administration will investigate after a flight at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport was …The American Airlines flight was scheduled to leave Reagan National at 10:15 a.m., according to tracking website FlightAware, and was given takeoff clearance.

Air traffic controllers aborted the takeoff, saying “American 2134, cancel takeoff clearance! Zero, Alpha, Alpha, go around, go around,” according to audio from LiveATC.net. American Airlines said in a statement that the “safety of our customers and team members is our top priority, and we’re grateful to our crew for their professionalism. We will support the FAA in its investigation.”

Local representatives argue that the airport is already too crowded and point to the recent expansion of flights at Reagan National in the recently passed FAA reauthorization bill, which adds 10 more daily long-haul flights into and out of the airport.
