An 18-year-old, Bajung Darboe, is reportedly set to join Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in January. Despite not playing a single minute of senior soccer at 18, Darboe is considered one of American soccer's hottest prospects. This move comes as a result of a partnership between Bayern Munich and LAFC , which aims to develop youth talent from around the world. Darboe will be the third MLS Homegrown player to join Bayern Munich , following Alphonso Davies and Justin Che.
He joins a list of current and former USMNT players who have played for Bayern Munich's second team, FC Bayern II, before making appearances with the first team. These include Chris Richards and Malik Tillman, who later moved on to other clubs for more playing time. Darboe's talent has been evident throughout his time in MLS academies, moving from Minnesota United to Philadelphia Union and now LAFC
