An American woman was left raging after she was reportedly refused onto a flight from Orkney to Edinburgh with her medical alert dog.

The airline confirmed to Edinburgh Live that in order to meet regulations, customers would need to show 'relevant certification'. “This is completely legal under the Equality Act. If you go to the Assistance Dogs UK website, they thoroughly explain that it is legal to train your dog privately with a qualified trainer.

Julie explained: “I was fortunate to know someone who trained search and rescue dogs, and this friend helped me find a dog and train him.”She added: “I submitted all the documents outlining his training and the tasks he performs for my disability to Loganair, along with a letter from my GP stating, ‘Yes, she is disabled, and she needs an assistance dog.’
