The latest Manchester United news as Manuel Ugarte faces a reunion with his former head coach amid Ruben Amorim's imminent appointment.
Ruben Amorim might be a stranger to the Premier League but, for particular Manchester United players, the 39-year-old is well-known and well-respected in the game.
Since moving to the Estadio Jose Alvalade, the incoming United head coach has won two top-flight medals, two Taca da Liga trophies and the Supertaca Candidio de Oliveira. Ugarte was signed by Amorim in August 2021 for a fee of £4.5million. He was initially brought in to provide cover for Joao Palhinha, before the Portugal international moved to Fulham in 2022. Amorim replaced the Uruguay international with Morten Hjulmand, a midfielder who has been linked with a move to Old Trafford himself for some time with a £67million release clause. In the aftermath of the double deal, Amorim went public on the differences between the two, which could be a concern for United.
