Amy Schumer candidly discussed her experience with Ozempic, revealing the debilitating side effects that led her to discontinue its use. She also criticized celebrities who 'lie' about their weight loss journeys, urging authenticity and transparency.

Amy Schumer looked radiant in a form-fitting black midi dress while making an appearance in New York City. The 43-year-old actress complemented the v-neck, long-sleeved dress with black pumps and classic Wayfarer-style sunglasses. Schumer styled her long blonde hair in a chic ponytail and was spotted leaving the SiriusXM offices where she participated in a Town Hall event to promote her new comedy film.

Amy, who recently had to discontinue using Ozempic due to adverse side effects, joined her 'Kinda Pregnant' co-stars Brianne Howey, Jillian Bell, Lizze Broadway, and Urzila Carlson for a panel discussion moderated by Bevy Smith. The Netflix film, which also stars Will Forte and Damon Wayons Jr., is set to premiere on February 5th. In her role as Lainy, Schumer's character experiences a setback in her plans to settle down and have children. To cope, she resorts to wearing a fake baby bump, fabricates a lie, and unexpectedly falls for her ideal partner. Her visit to New York City also included a stop at The Howard Stern Show where she candidly discussed her experience with Ozempic after the host expressed his disapproval of the drug. Schumer revealed that she lost 30 pounds while taking the medication, which is primarily prescribed for type 2 diabetes but has gained popularity as a rapid weight loss solution. However, she soon experienced severe side effects, including persistent vomiting and nausea. Schumer later learned that she carries the GDF15 gene, which leads to abnormally low levels of the GDF15 hormone, causing taste aversion, nausea, and vomiting. This hormone is naturally produced during pregnancy and by organs under stress or tumors. 'I have this gene - GDF15 - which makes you extremely prone to nausea which is why I was so sick during my pregnancy,' Schumer explained, referencing the birth of her son with husband Chris Fischer in 2019. Despite the initial weight loss, the side effects proved debilitating. 'So, I tried Ozempic almost three years ago and I was like bedridden, I was vomiting and then you have no energy but other people take it and they're all good,' she shared. She humorously remarked, 'I lost 30 pounds so quick. I looked great and I couldn't lift my head off the pillow, so what's the point?' Schumer expressed skepticism about the positive portrayals of Ozempic, calling them 'red flags' and pointing out the drastic weight loss of even prominent figures like Oprah Winfrey. Ultimately, she chose to discontinue Ozempic due to the overwhelming side effects. 'And you’re like,'OK, this isn’t livable for me,' she admitted. She also voiced her frustration with celebrities who 'lie' about their weight loss journeys, urging them to be transparent about their methods. 'Everyone has been lying saying,'Oh smaller portions.' Like shut the f*** up. 'You are on Ozempic or one of those things or you got work done. Just stop,' she declared. 'Be real with the people. When I got lipo, I said I got lipo,' she added
