The best chippies in Merseyside as chosen by our writers
Today is Good Friday and to mark the occasion we've rounded up some of our absolute favourites from across the region. From award-winning takeaways to real hidden gems, there are plenty to choose from.
The battered fish is incredible, tasty without being greasy, and not sickly like some chip shops' efforts can be - and their curry sauce is the perfect dipping accompaniment. But my go-to order is one that will likely go down as blasphemy with many chippy lovers. There are often queues forming at this chippy which can only ever be a good sign. The chippy has been serving food to hungry Tranmere residents for years now, and has even made it to the finals of the British Takeaway Awards a few times.
