Liverpool earned a 2-1 win over Arsenal on Wednesday as Arne Slot's side stepped up their pre-season preparations
Liverpool continued to catch the eye during their preparations for the new season after beating Premier League rivals Arsenal on Wednesday evening. Goals from Mohamed Salah and Fabio Carvalho were enough to earn the Reds an impressive victory over the Gunners, who will be expected to challenge for the league title once again this coming campaign. Plenty of transfer talk remains ongoing as Liverpool edged closer to starting their season, both in terms of incomings and outgoings.
Real have been heavily linked with a move for the 25-year-old, though Carlo Ancelotti may have put such worries to bed after commenting on Los Blancos' transfer plans. Explaining there will be no further incomings, he told reporters: 'The squad is closed,' he said. ' Vallejo is back, Alaba is recovering. We have young centre-backs like Joan, Jacobo and Raul who are training and have a lot of quality. I believe we are well covered in this position.
