Experts at the HexHive Laboratory at Switzerland's EPFL claim they have found 'critical' security flaws in Android devices, which could make them more vulnerable to cyber attackers

Experts claim to have found 'critical' security flaws in Android devices which they say put fingerprint and face data at risk of theft. The team at Switzerland's EPFL reportedly uncovered over 30 issues within Google 's mobile operating system, after hacking in to explore its vulnerabilities before malicious attackers could.

And finally, there's the bit you'd recognise - day-to-day apps. EPFL claim they found security issues in all three of these layers through a technique called 'fuzzing', which uses a model to throw 'unexpected inputs' of code at a software to unveil its issues. They also found that if Android devices weren't updated 'properly', hackers could force a downgrade to more vulnerable versions of apps to retrieve sensitive information. The team analysed more than 35,000 trusted applications across numerous phone manufacturers to demonstrate this.
