Halliday was amazed at how Hearts started the game but gave no credence to claims that the Jambos didn't try.
The Jambos' Hampden hoodoo against the Light Blues continued at the weekend, with a 2-0 win for Philippe Clement 's team extending the Tynecastle club's run of having NEVER beaten the Gers at the national stadium. The consensus before the game was that an upset could be on the cards given the Ibrox outfit's patchy league form in recent weeks, with Hearts motoring to third place.
"I was surprised by their start to the game, but I've said it before, early goals can ruin game plans," he told Clyde Super Scoreboard. "I don't think Hearts settled into the game well. "Hearts just didn't put up a performance that they're capable of on Sunday. They went to Ibrox this season and were 1-0 up in the 9st minute. They conceded a penalty in the 93rd minute and then a winner from Danilo in the 95th minute for 2-1 .
"So you really expected Hearts to fly out the traps and get after Rangers, get in their faces and make it uncomfortable for them. But if you watch three people in John Lundstram, Mohamed Diomande and Todd Cantwell, I felt they could do whatever they wanted for the first 30 minutes.
