Antrim skipper Peter Healy has yet to feature for the Saffrons in 2024 while vice-captain Dermot McAleese remains doubtful
After Down eased to a nine-point win over their Championship opponents Antrim at Corrigan Park in February, Andy McEntee revealed that he was without 10 players from last year’s panel.

“Not too many more to be perfectly honest,” was McEntee’s reply when asked if more players will be back in time to face Down. “I think we had 12 newcomers to National League football through the course of this campaign. It’s a lot and you’d like to think the experience of the Wicklow game, nervy enough as it was at times, we’ll be stronger for it.”
While Antrim were very much in contention for large parts of the League game at Corrigan Park, Down surged clear to win by nine after the sides were level with 50 minutes played. However, McEntee has no qualms with Jordan being singled out for extra attention and believes it proves how vital he is to Antrim’s cause.
