Andy Murray has revealed he will be out injured for 'an extended period' after he ruptured his ankle ligaments during his three-set defeat to Tomas Machac at the Miami Open.No.1 received treatment on his ankle late in the third set of the last-32 loss but took to Instagram late on Monday night to explain the full extent of the injury.
"Yesterday towards the end of my match in Miami I suffered a full rupture of my ATFL and near full thickness rupture of my CFL," he said in a post on social media."Goes without saying this is a tough one to take and I’ll be out for an extended period. But I’ll be back with 1 hip and no ankle ligaments when the time is right.""I wasn't thinking about all the matches I played," the three-time Grand Slam winner said.
