British tennis great Sir Andy Murray had already announced this summer's Olympic Games in Paris would be his last tournament.

Andy Murray's tennis career has ended after he lost in the doubles at the Olympics. The British tennis great announced prior to this summer's Games that it would be his last tournament. Sir Andy and Dan Evans went out in the quarter-finals to fancied American pair Taylor Fritz and Tommy Paul, losing 6-2 6-4. In his first match of the tournament with partner Evans, his career was rescued from the brink as the British duo saved five match points to win.

In what was one of his best comebacks, Murray and Evans recovered from losing the first set 6-2 to Japan's Taro Daniel and Kei Nishikori. Then, in the second round, they prolonged Murray's career further with a dramatic three-set win over Belgium's Sander Gille and Joran Vliegen. Ahead of this summer's Games, the two-time gold medallist also withdrew from the men's singles competition.
