Manager Postecoglou's honeymoon period is not ending anytime soon
. He wants them to take chances and, yes, make mistakes but never fear that those mistakes will define them.
It is working because the manager understands that the supporters matter. Postecoglou wants them to run wild in their celebrations because joy is the point of the whole silly exercise. He knows that they can make a positive difference and he knows that he will need them when it goes awry, which at some point it has to.“It’s everything for me,” Postecoglou said after the game.
“The way we play, it’s not just that I believe it’s what gets you success – it does, that’s what I believe and it has in my career.“But it also says a lot about you as a football club when you play the game that way because it requires a fair bit of bravery, a fair bit of courage, a real relentlessness when you play that way and I think that has to sort of marry with the image of the football club.
