Angela Bassett looked devastated when she lost out to win a 2023 Oscar for Best Supporting Actress - with the star's reaction going viral when Jamie Lee Curtis was announced the winner.
One fan wrote on Twitter: "Bassett is a fantastic actress. A shame she didn’t continue performing tonight and applaud when Jamie Lee won."Angela Bassett’s face when Jamie Lee Curtis won Oh My God," another shared. "Angela Bassett deserves that #oscar," another said, while someone agreed by writing: "Angela Bassett is such a legend and incredible actor."
"I know it looks like I am standing up here by myself, but I am not. I am hundreds of people," Curtis began to say. And giving her mum Janet a shout-out on stage, Curtis added: “My mum is 84 years old and she’s at home watching. Mum, I just won an Oscar!”
