You get the feeling that sheer mention of King Island would make him fume, which might explain the outsized reaction now.But where does this leave King Island? Is Rex seriously contemplating refusing service to a public official because he got a bit fast and loose with his criticism? Is that even legal?
Then there were Rex’s tactics at Whyalla, to which it stopped flying last year after the council-owned airport instituted passenger security screenings. Rex described this as “a devious and underhanded attempt force Rex to subsidise the screening costs of Qantas, whose services are legally required to be screened”.
