‘Unless you come to work with a baby on your boob, you’ve got to leave work for a bit and it’s deeply unfair and I’ve never felt how unfair it was being a woman as much as I had when I had a baby.’ AnnieMac

But that didn’t mean she found it easy watching someone else in her spot, something which many other working mums can no doubt relate to.

‘There was probably an innate pressure to come back to work sooner than I wanted to because I was possessive about my job.’She continued: ‘Also, there’s a history in maternity leave of being totally out of the loop for ages then having to come back full time and expect to be right back. ‘If there were women in charge, I’m sure there’d be a different way of approaching maternity leave. It’s just knowing what works for women and those decisions being made by women for women. Because only women know what it’s like to have a baby and go on maternity leave.’The lack of female representation has also been a huge talking point with music festival line-ups. Notably, Wireless Festival sparked outrage in 2018 when only three female acts were listed on their heavily male-dominated bill.
