A recent TikTok video has sparked concerns about Antalya, Turkey's once-thriving tourist destination, now appearing eerily deserted. While some attribute the quiet to the low season, others point to rising inflation and increased costs as potential reasons for the decline in visitors.
Tourists are sounding the alarm that a once-buzzing holiday spot is now eerily empty, with Brits potentially shunning it for more wallet-friendly options. A recent TikTok video posted by Josh Daly has garnered attention as he declares Antalya in Turkey to be "dead".
Adding a surprised observation, he continues: "We have got absolutely nothing going on. The hotel doesn't actually have anyone in so, if you do want to get away by yourself, it's probably the best way to go about it because it looks like a bomb has been dropped there. Honestly, there's nothing here - it's a complete ghost town."
One individual commented on the seasonal argument, saying: "People saying 'because it's January/winter' aren't really bright. In the day it can still be comfortably warm and not all people like heat. Egypt can be around the same in January, and it's still busy."
