Anthony Gordon left Everton in January 2023 to sign for Newcastle United but has been linked with making the switch to Premier League rivals Liverpool in recent weeks
Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon has hailed the Anfield effect, naming Liverpool's home as the best atmosphere he has played in aside from St James' Park.

Gordon began his career with the Reds but was released by the club at the age of 11 and joined city rivals, Everton. It is believed he grew up supporting Liverpool, though this has not been confirmed for definite. "When a player’s 11 years old, then people can get it wrong but if he feels as if he should have been at Liverpool, then if they’re interested in him, he now knows he’s good enough because they want him back. If their interest is real, he knows that he’s won them over. Ultimately though, he’s a good player and Liverpool are a huge club, so I do believe Anthony would be interested in the move.
