Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has offered a transfer update on Liverpool target Anthony Gordon's future
Eddie Howe has insisted that Anthony Gordon is not distracted by transfer speculation linking him with Liverpool. However, the Newcastle United manager has conceded that the Magpies will have to sell players before the transfer window closes on August 30. The Reds had been in talks with Newcastle regarding a possible move for Gordon back in June.
He's with Newcastle,” he said of Gordon. 'No distractions. He’s been really impressive . His focus has been on his work and his fitness, everything to do with this football club, nothing else. 'They needed an extended break. It was essential we gave them a mental break. They’ve came back in good shape. Really happy with them. Hopefully they will be involved at the weekend.' Howe had previously insisted he wanted Gordon to stay at the club earlier in the summer.
