Anthony Joshua recorded a bludgeoning victory over Francis Ngannou - and is now in pole position to fight the winner of Tyson Fury's undisputed clash with Oleksandr Usyk
Joshua managed to do what Tyson Fury couldn't, defeating Ngannou while Fury watched from the sidelines. Last year, Fury was knocked down by the former UFC champion before scraping a win on points. However, Joshua didn't make the same mistake, knocking the Cameroonian down three times on his way to a stunning second-round victory.
"On the route to the championship, you should stay focused on the road ahead. When I saw his fight with Tyson Fury, I thought, 'Damn, I want some of that'." In the first round Ngannou quickly tried to land the left hook he thought was Joshua's weak spot but 'AJ' was ready and knocked Ngannou down with a right hand straight to the chin. The former UFC champion got up and managed to finish the round, but had to hold on when Joshua landed another hit at the start of the second round.
