Eddie Hearn reveals Anthony Joshua 'happy' to fight Tyson Fury this summer
Anthony Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn has declared that they would be willing to resurrect a potential fight with Tyson Fury next.
British boxing’s heavyweight rivals agreed terms to meet in December following AJ’s defeats to Oleksandr Usyk, but ultimately were unable to finalise the deal at contract stages. As a result, Fury faced Derek Chisora instead and, after beating him, is now in talks to face Usyk himself for the undisputed crown.the deal is ‘very, very close’, though many fans are becoming sceptical as it is not done yet.
And his promoter Hearn has said that, if he wins and Fury vs Usyk is not finalised, he would be happy to make AJ vs Fury this summer instead.: “Don’t be surprised – I don’t know what’s gonna happen with this Usyk thing – he [AJ] may fight Fury next. We’d be open to that fight. “If Oleksandr Usyk doesn’t fight Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua will fight Tyson Fury next, in the summer.
Fury vs Usyk would be for the undisputed WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO heavyweight world titles, if it gets made“He will. If that fight doesn’t happen, we’ll take the Fury fight.“That’s much bigger than the Usyk fight, much bigger.”
