Antiques Road Trip expert Paul Laidlaw made a whopping £191 in profit and asked to leave the show
On BBC's Antiques Road Trip, experts Paul Laidlaw and Margie Cooper hit the streets of Leicester in search of profitable antiques. The duo experienced a successful run, with profits made on almost every item.
This prompted Paul to jokingly suggest they should spend their earnings on a day out, leading host Tim Wonnacott to step in with a firm "No you will not, let's get the abacus out." Margie secured a respectable £83 profit, but it was Paul who stole the show with an impressive £191 gain—one of the highest ever on the programme. Throughout the week, Paul consistently earned more than Margie, even admitting to a cheeky attempt at undermining her sales.Margie faced disappointment when an item she hoped would fetch more only started bidding at £30, resulting in a £10 loss.
Paul further quipped about spreading a rumour that her item was plastic, hoping bidders would take it as a joke, reports the Express. A disheartened Margie could only sigh and hang her head as she acknowledged her defeat. Antiques Road Trip is broadcast weekly on BBC2 and available on BBC iPlayer.
