Experts were left visibly impressed
An Antiques Roadshow guest was left astounded when he discovered his item was valued at nearly £100,000.
Upon examining the painting, the expert said: "He painted the mood of the nation, I think. Provenance of Lowry is crucial. Now thankfully, on the reverse of your picture you have a label from the gallery that represented Lowry as you know and sold many of his works and you also have this letter.
However, this isn't the first time a guest on the BBC2 show has been stunned by a valuation, after presenting a baseball that had been kept in a drawer in his home. They further revealed to the show's expert how the ball had been stashed away for years: "Oh they were in a sock drawer, a dresser drawer and I didn't think they were much of anything."
