The landing craft was used as a nightclub in Salthouse Dock for a number of years after the war

Tonight's episode of Antiques Roadshow featured a D-Day landing craft which was once a floating Liverpool nightclub.

LCT 7074 landed on Gold Beach, which was the centre beach of the five designated landing sites. The British 50th Infantry Division took the beach from Hitler's forces before capturing the town of Bayeux - a primary target. George's daughter, Freja Evans Swogger grew up in Halewood and said her late dad and Colin's catering business, Compass Catering, is how the pair first got involved with the Landfall, before buying it in 1968.

Along with her siblings Leif, Bjorn, Sven and Kirsti, most of Freja's childhood Saturdays were spent treating the ship like their own "personal playground." Freja also remembers staff members like caretaker Kelvin and the Landfall having a "nasty parrot" that they weren't allowed to go near.
