Brazilian winger Antony joins Real Betis on loan for the remainder of the season while Manchester United seeks to secure a deal for Lecce's Patrick Dorgu.
Antony will embark on a loan journey to Real Betis for the remainder of the season, with a Friday flight planned to Spain to finalize the transfer. This move comes as Manchester United gears up to present a renewed bid for Patrick Dorgu. United successfully negotiated a loan agreement with Betis earlier this week, securing Antony 's temporary stint with the Spanish club.
Despite the agreement, the Brazilian winger remained an unused substitute during Manchester United's 2-1 victory over Rangers in the Europa League on Thursday evening.According to Spanish media outlet ABC, the transfer's initial delay stemmed from discussions between United and Antony's representatives, coupled with the reluctance of Real Betis manager Ruben Amorim to release the 24-year-old from his squad. However, all parties have reportedly settled their differences, with Amorim now approving the transfer. This development allows Antony to travel to Seville and complete his move to Betis. Although he won't be available for Betis' La Liga clash against Mallorca on Saturday, the club anticipates his potential debut against Athletic Bilbao on February 2nd.Currently positioned 12th in La Liga and eliminated from the Copa del Rey following a 5-1 defeat to Barcelona last week, Betis hopes Antony can rejuvenate his form in Spain. After a challenging period at Manchester United following his €100 million (£85.6m) transfer from Ajax in 2022, the Brazilian winger seeks to rediscover his brilliance. Meanwhile, Manchester United is preparing to lodge a revised offer for Lecce's versatile attacker, Patrick Dorgu. Lecce rejected United's initial bid of €27m (£22.8m), maintaining their stance on a €40m (£33.8m) valuation. Dorgu, in his second season with Lecce after joining from FC Nordsjaelland in 2022, has demonstrated his ability to operate effectively on both flanks. His skillset aligns well with Ruben Amorim's tactical preferences. Notably, Napoli, who have engaged in extensive discussions with United regarding Alejandro Garnacho this month, are also pursuing Dorgu's signature
