The viral trend has seen passengers sharing a rather unusual way of securing their seatbelts on planes but experts warn 'don't do it'
A viral TikTok trend is offering advice to holidaymakers that experts say could be extremely dangerous.
The travel gurus at Netflights recently shared their views on plane etiquette, including their thoughts on this bizarre seatbelt trend., reports the Mirror. The firm said: "With millions of views on TikTok, passengers on long-haul flights might be tempted to try this for ultimate comfort, however, experts strongly advise against it."
General advice to help reduce the risk of a DVT is to move around as much as possible. When seated, passengers should be able to flex and extend their ankles to encourage blood flow. Posting advice to over 60,000 followers, the Canadian travel expert talks about the unpredictability of turbulence and that securing your seatbelt at your feet "to get through the seatbelt rules" could leave you "very, very hurt".
