The Finance Sector Union has complained that pay rises at ANZ have lagged their peers in the industry.FSU national secretary Julia Angrisano said the return of ANZ was a “huge win” for members, and the union had been holding “constructive discussions” with the bank. The laws received royal assent on December 6. ANZ met the FSU to discuss renegotiating its agreement on December 8.
The FSU has been pursuing wage claims of 6 per cent a year among the big four banks and has also flagged employee protections and flexibility around working from home, includingThe union had requested ANZ bargain soon after the election mid-last year. However, the bank, which has been granting pay rises through direct agreements with staff, said at the time its preference was to set up a “consultation framework” on increases.
