The justices\' transgressions represent “one of the clearest cases” for impeachment, said Ocasio-Cortez.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez filed articles of impeachment against Supreme Court Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito, in the boldest move yet to resolve the Court’s “unchecked corruption crisis” as it radically reshapes the U.S. government in the image of the conservative justices’ right-wing allies.
“Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito’s pattern of refusal to recuse from consequential matters before the court in which they hold widely documented financial and personal entanglements constitutes a grave threat to American rule of law, the integrity of our democracy, and one of the clearest cases for which the tool of impeachment was designed,” Ocasio-Cortez said
The lawmaker filed three articles against Thomas and two against Alito, levying charges against both of refusing to recuse from cases that represented conflicts of interest for the justices as well as failing to disclose gifts they have received from special interest donors over their decades on the bench.of gifts while on the bench that they either failed to disclose or, many argue, should never have accepted to begin with in accordance with ethics standards.
Ocsaio-Cortez’s impeachment articles are cosponsored by eight House members, including Representatives Rashida Tlaib , Ilhan Omar and Jamaal Bowman . They are also endorsed by several court watchdog and progressive groups.
