The incident took place at a shop on Newtownards Road this morning
A man armed with a knife is reported to have entered a shop on Newtownards Road at around 6.45am on Thursday, November 13, and demanded a sum of money from a male staff member before fleeing the area on foot.
Detective Sergeant Faulkner said: “Shortly before 6:45am, it was reported to police that a male entered a shop in the area armed with a knife. It was reported he demanded money from a male member of staff inside the premises and made off with a sum of money on foot. The member of staff was not injured during the incident.
