An animal rescue charity is appealing for help to find new homes for hens that have been rescued from a poor indoor environment.
The hens have been rescued by the charity, and been available for rehoming since December 14.
Long-time volunteer at Forget-me-not, Margaret Brayne said:"We are seeking ethical, loving homes for approximately 50 rescued hens. "If you or someone you know can offer a safe, caring happy forever home for these lovely hens, please reach out to us via Facebook, our logo is a piglet and two rescued hens either side of him."
To apply to re-home the hens, residents must provide their name, address and the number of hens they would like to re-home. Applicants must also supply a photo or video of their garden, enclosure and 'coop setup'. The charity is asking for a donation of £5 per hen for the adoption, that will assist with covering the costs of the major rescue that was originally for 500 hens.Plans for 44 new homes in small Shropshire village look set to go ahead despite concerns over 'narrow country lanes'
