The tech giant held its annual big announcement event tonight , with Tim Cook presiding over announcements for the newest model of phone, watch and headphones.
There's a 12 megapixel main camera, with improvement to low-light captures. The front camera has a new autofocus mode for better selfies. Apple is also bringing the all-day battery life of Pro Max to all 14 models.In terms of extra security, iPhone 14 is adding car crash detection technology, which can notify emergency contacts, and emergency SOS satellite linking, so you can get in touch with rescue services when you have no regular signal.
This satellite service launches in November, but it won't be free. Though you will get to use it for two years without charge when you buy an iPhone 14. A third and fourth model, the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max, were also announced, also at 6.1 and 6.7 inches, respectively. The big change here is a 'dynamic island', a black 'blob' around the front camera that expands with notifications or controls for songs, directions, timers or other apps.
