The role will help a young person kickstart a career into journalism

Applications are now open for an apprenticeship scheme at the Manchester Evening News and Financial Times.

It runs for 18 months and involves four months of intensive study in London, followed by seven months working as a trainee reporter for the M.E.N in Manchester. The successful candidate will then return to London to spend four month training in a Financial Times specialist publication before completing a further three months working alongside FT journalists in the field and newsroom.
