Mr Paul, who sits on the Archbishops' Council, said: 'The racist nature of this 'antiracism' approach is evident in the actions being taken. 'There is a better way to address these issues. At the moment, the Church of England strategy is not it.' Geetha Tharmaratnam, vice-chairman of the oversight group, suggested the £900 million shortfall could be made up in part by wealthy families and companies ashamed of their historic links to slavery.
