Tottenham are leading the race to sign teenage star Archie Gray after Leeds United snubbed a £40m bid from Premier League side Brentford over the weekend
Archie Gray 's proposed move to Tottenham is edging ever closer. That is according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano as Leeds United face up to losing one of their prized assets.
"Spurs are optimistic on personal terms after positive talks with player’s camp, player open to the move. Tottenham hope to reach total agreement and book medical soon."Gray has many admirers in the top flight following a stellar breakthrough campaign at Elland Road. The 18-year-old racked up 52 appearances across all competitions, featuring in midfield and at right-back, as the Whites reached the Championship play-off final.
Gray first featured in United's first-team squad three months before his 16th birthday when he was named on the bench for a Premier League fixture with Arsenal in December 2021. The Whites tied Gray down to a new long-term contract earlier this year.
