It's been a washout spring so far and another icy chill will blast parts of the country on Wednesday
The UK is set for another Arctic April plunge this week, with forecasters predicting hours of snowfall and freezing temperatures.
The Met Office has also weighed in on the unseasonably poor weather, providing some insight into when we might expect conditions to improve. This follows predictions from forecasters Ventusky that Monday would bring thunder and rain - a forecast that proved accurate, with hail and sleet hitting in parts of the region.
The Met Office's medium-term forecast said; "Over the weekend and into the new week a build of high pressure will likely occur, meaning more in the way of dry and calm weather across the UK as a whole. Cloud cover is rather uncertain, as some cloudy and clear regions are expected, with the chance of frost and fog where the clearer conditions are to be found overnight.
