The Met Office has predicted that some parts of the country will face the freezing temperatures this week
Scots will face even more freezing temperatures this week as an Arctic blast brings -10 conditions today.
The forecaster warned that a freezing chill will continue into Tuesday, January 2, before temperatures start to rise again towards the end of the week, the Mirror reports. People have been warned to expect: "Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces. Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths."
He said: "At the moment the jet stream is still running across the UK but as we head into Bank Holiday Monday it’s going to clear away towards the southeast and that will allow for some colder air to push in from the north and will also lead to a ridge of high pressure building which is why the weather is going to turn a little bit calmer, albeit for a just a short period of time."
