ARGOS shoppers can now search for products online simply by taking a picture. Using a new “visual search” function in its free app, customers can upload images of products they want to …
Users of the app can already digitally try out sofas and TVs in their homes to check the size, fit and overall look before they splash out.
Mark Steel, digital director at Agos, pointed to the increasing use of social media platforms such as Instagram and Pinterest as inspiration for shoppers. By adding visual search to the Argos app, Steel said the retailer was "intentionally putting this exciting new technology directly into the hands and pockets of our customers".
"Customers seeking a product or even an entire room set they’ve discovered online, or seen in a friend’s home, can now browse our vast range of homewares and furniture to find great value similar items in an instant, simply using a picture. "The future potential for visual search is really exciting as it has the ability to break down language barriers and offer those with disabilities an easy way to find what they need online," he added.SUN SAVERSMartin Lewis says thousands pay too much council tax and reveals how to checkShould you buy your holiday money now or wait until after Brexit?Ikea has already
