The university will host a watch party on campus for their students. It will take place on the Reng Student Union Plaza, beginning at 12:30 p.m. and end at 3:30 p.m.
One week from today, all eyes will be on the skies as Northeast Arkansas experiences the total eclipse.“We’ll be handing out glasses and things like that for students to kinda hang out on the lawn and watch the eclipse together and just make it a fun environment for everyone,” said Micayla McGowen, Arkansas State Student Government Association president.
“We’re gonna have DJ King Vick come, Ohana come and do some snow cones for students. Just kinda promote an environment where everybody can come out and come watch it happen,” Lawson Davis, president of the A-State Student Activities Board, adds.“We’re gonna have DJ King Vick come, Ohana Hawaiian Snow] come and do some snow cones for students.
The watch party will be on the Reng Student Union Plaza and run from 12:30- 3:30 p.m. and take place during the eclipse.“It’s just another opportunity for us to bring together students, that's kinda the goal of both of our positions I would say, is just to promote student life,” Davis added. “It's kinda fun to have everybody in one place and one time to watch something that's apparently is such a big deal. So, it’ll be fun to see it all come together and everybody hanging out together for sure,” said McGowen.
